The Region 8 First Call Theological Education Conference is a part of FCTE expectations in the ELCA. This conference will be held Monday, November 14 through Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Capital Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA. Check in on Monday will be early afternoon. We will conclude before lunch on Wednesday morning. Accommodations are hotel style. The cost for the event is $500 if you request a single room or $350 if you are open to a roommate (2 queen beds per room).
We will be taking covid precautions of some variety, the details of which will be determined and shared closer to the event. We will give refunds if participants are not able to attend on account of contracting covid. Our time together will be marked by worship, learning, and conversation. The planning team is crafting a schedule that will include a plenary session led by Bishop Craig Satterlee, a robust set of breakout sessions and affinity groups, opportunities to meet with our Portico representative and chaplain, time with your synod, a bishops’ panel, fellowship, and rest. If you have questions, please speak to your synod contact. We look forward to an excellent conference!
